You can’t deny the enormous popularity of today’s diet pills. Thin is “in” and everyone seems to be trying to shed those extra pounds. If you look at the TV adds it seems that all you have to do is take these “miracle” pills and soon you will have the slender figure you’ve always wanted. Are these products too good to be true?
Most weight loss pills work in one of three different ways.
- By decreasing the appetite so you eat less food.
- By making you feel full after you eat effectively reducing your cravings for food.
- By inhibiting the absorption of fat.
Most pills are available over the counter, however, some require a prescription. If you are taking these pills be careful to avoid taking too many pills at one time. There’s been more than one over anxious dieter in the emergency room from these pills.
The bottomline on diet pills is they all work better if you improve your diet and start and exercise program. If you are going to spend the money to start the pills you may as well get all of the benefits. If you look at the fine print of most diet pills is says results are atypical and diet and exercise is advised. So these pill can be effective but you should also include a balanced diet and consistent exercise program.
