In today’s world of super large cheeseburgers vs. super small super models, it would appear that society burps from both sides of its mouth. Magazine racks are stuffed to the rim with slickly airbrushed images of scantily clad, skeletal, figures of would be femme fatales, whilst fast food chains pop up on every corner faster than microwave popcorn. The idea is put forth that the image of a super skinny model is ideal. The idea is planted in the heads of young girls that end up carrying this misconception through to adulthood.
It is a huge hypocrisy when society as a whole declares you as obese just because you are not at the ideal pant size that they believe you should be yet tries to feed people all the junk that is in the supermarkets today with preservatives and sugars. You can’t win, so you grab your greasy pizza box, crawl into your corner of the couch and think. Nobody in the magazines actually look that good. That model is probably having a cheeseburger between shots. Or worse, you sink into a life of starvation either through not eating, or binging and purging.
According to the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) as of 2011, 12 states in the U.S. have obesity rates over 30%, up from only one state just four years ago. Equally disturbing, it is estimated that at least 8 million Americans have an eating disorder. Between our mothers telling us to finish what’s on our plate, but then scolding us for being “overweight” and Lane Bryant sporting size 10 pants that are size 16 at the Gap, weight loss tips for women can be very confusing.
So, in the midst of these very confusing and conflicting messages of starve and be skinny and eat because there’s so much food in which to indulge, and indulge again … what do we do?
Here, are some useful weight loss tips for women. You are beautiful and not broken. If you truly wish to change yourself, you have to be willing to first love who you are. If your happiness depends on your physical appearance, then your emotions and your self-esteem will continually shift back and forth. It’s time to find that natural balance, and love the skin you are in. Be who you have always wanted to be, you. If you want to lose weight do it because you want to do it for you and not because of external societal pressures. Some people have found good success by eating a balance diet, exercise, and weight loss supplements. Some fitness and health supplements can help you get the upper hand and aid you in losing weight.
People are as unique as fingerprints and snowflakes. Personalities and bodies are all different and unique. You have to relate to yourself as an individual instead of comparing yourself to others. Whether you’re healthiest at 115 or 160, you were born to be who you are.
Be healthy as opposed to goal oriented. Don’t put all of your energy and mind into a set goal. These goals can prompt you to fail. It’s better to focus on eating what is healthy for you, as well as staying physically active, and enjoy the benefits as they come naturally. Exercise is not an all for one, and one for all.
Our bodies are different, our metabolism is different thus our exercise should be tailored to us as individuals.
